“The story of the band begins in 2008, when two of its participants – Taras Terletsky (vocals/guitars) and Vitaliy Lityagin (keyboards) reformed a well known pop-rock band YakaisnuE (which exist) into more heaviest sound. That’s how the tracks “Take Me” and “The Beat Of Heart” where created.
Not long after SR got a new young Guitar player – Paul Ilnytskyy. Before that he played in number of bands in England and Germany. So this new participant came to the band with a huge experience. Paul also became a back vocalist.
Concerning the name, it was seen by the members of the band on the computer monitor after the electricity fail… Shock on the studio – the idea was that this name was given by someone high upon!”
On today’s TWITTER TUESDAY LIVE, Mark and I were joined by two young lads from this rocking band from the UKRAINE, SAMPLE RATE – Taras Terletsky ,vocals / guitars and Pavlo Ilnytskyy ,guitars / vocals. Other memebers of the band that couldn’t be here today are Nazar “Rembo” Pogorletsky – drums and Vitaly Lityagin – keyboards / vocals.
Being a live show, when we experience some technical difficulties, we can’t really do much about it. We have to weather the storm and just get on with the show! Which is just what we did. We had a good audience that tuned in live and gave some great feedback and support to the guys from SAMPLE RATE.
During the show, Taras and Pavlo talked about their passion for what they do and how they want to further their musical career and their dreams of one day playing in the USA and Australia, of course!
Talking to them, you can tell they are very proud of their country, their language and their heritage and this comes out in the music that the band produces.
Despite the technical issues that they were both having, Mark and I really enjoyed talking to them. They have a great sense of humour and are fun guys to be around!
We have four of their songs currently on the Butterflies Rotation including a fantastic cover from one of my favourite bands, SAVAGE GARDEN, “Moon and Back”. For the audience that tuned in live today, we showcased 3 of their songs, all with good positive feedback. The songs we featured were:
FREEDOM
THE BREATH
RESCUE MY LIFE

But wait, there is more…………………………………………………
The weekend before this show was MOTHERS DAY and, at this moment in time, I don’t have my children living me. So, unbeknownst to me, Mark gave me a surprise at the start of the show! Now to hear it you will have to check out the show! http://www.butterfliesradio.com/home/twitter-tuesday-live/
This is my son, Leon! A big thank you to Mark and the wonders of Skype for making it happen!
We also showcased the following artists all new to the Butterflies Radio rotation!

“Winner of Artist of the Year 2012 and nominated for Best Album of the Year, Best Rock Artist of the Year and Best Pop Artist of the Year at the Artist In Music Awards 2012, The Controversy is an acclaimed indie rock band based in Los Angeles, CA. What started out as The Controversy’s lead singer’s solo project, Laura Vall, quickly evolved into a more mature sound with the increasing involvement of the guitar player, co-writer and co-producer of the project, Thomas Hjorth. The Controversy’s first album (still released under Laura Vall in July of 2011) “Real” has received critical acclaimed reviews, describing it as “stunning”, “off the hook”, “Rich songs with powerful lyrics and musical serenity”, “refreshing change from the overproduced pop” and “unique, powerfully emotional, honest and ethereal”.
Mark and I were joined today by two wonderful and talented artists from L.A, Laura Vall and Thomas Hjorth. Laura originally started this as a single project however, it soon became THE CONTROVERSAY after meeting Thomas. The other members of the band that were unable to join us today are Mike Papagni on Drums. Spencer Wright on Bass and Ryan Bray on Acoustic Guitar.
Mark had a little bit of difficulty with Thomas’s last name however we got over that and he was “Just Thomas” for the rest of the show!
Mark and I briefly met them at the ARTISTS IN MUSIC AWARDS back in February when we watched Laura receive an award for “BEST ARTIST” Laura and Thomas talked about that moment when they were announced as the winners and how it felt to have won the award! Laura also received the LBGTQ award! Our only regret is that we didn’t get to spend much time with them that night and we didn’t get a photo with them! Let’s hope we can change that when we plan to revisit L.A. in 2013 for the next awards show!
Laura and Thomas at the ARTISTS IN MUSIC AWARDS at the Key club in Hollywood - February 2012
Laura collecting her reward from Micky Jayy
TWITTER TUESDAY is a 2 hours show and our guest artists are with us for approximately 90mins. You might think that this is a long time for a live show, but Mark and I never seem to be able to fit everything in as the show seems to fly by. Laura and Thomas were fantastic to talk to I could have listened to them for a lot longer than the show allowed.
Awesome couple who talked about, how they met, their musical backgrounds, their hopes for the new band, their plans for the future of the band and much much more! http://www.butterfliesradio.com/home/twitter-tuesday-live/

In this blog I have also included a lot of photos. During the show I asked who was responsible for the great promotional photos and found out that Thomas does them. He also produces the awesome video for the song REAL check it out http://youtu.be/BcXwo43W9XU
During the show we featured three songs from THE CONTROVERSY and they are all from their first album REAL. The live listeners to today’s show were giving back some great feedback to Laura and Thomas about the songs we played! Be sure to check out all their music as this is just a taste of what this awesome band has produced so far!
REAL - A rocking single about the duality of the good and the evil inside each one of us and the disconnection we sometimes feel between what we want to do and what we think it’s right. Powerful vocals accompanied with layers of driving guitars, synths, live drums and electronic beats.
LITTLE STAR -Emotional electro pop ballad written in memorial of Laura’s best childhood friend. The song talks about the strength, will to fight and the light of the vanishing 20 year old. Crying vocals held with synths, vibey guitars and driving drums and beats.
SO LOW - Back to the roots, this indie folk song talks about how sharing your life experiences with complete strangers in a bar can make you feel less lonely. It’s an easy sing-along song with the depth and layers in the production that defines the sound of The Controversy.
Check out their first album REAL from here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/real/id450249653
CHECK OUT THIS AWESOME BAND – THE CONTROVERSY and follow and give them the support that they deserve http://www.thecontroversyband.com/
Laura and Thomas, thank you so much for taking the time to join Mark and I today on our live show. It was such a pleasure to meet and talk with you both. You are both beautiful people. I had a great time and on behalf of Mark and myself I would like to wish you all the best with your future ventures. We hope we get to meet again next year in L.A. Please keep in touch!
We also featured the following artists and their songs, all of whom are new to the Butterflies Radio Rotation:

TANQUERAY PARADE – IM A LIAR

“This BMI registered trio took their name from a lyric in a Catherine Wheel song after forming
in the summer of 2009 and recorded their debut album “The Halo Effect” in six weeks.
The Halo Effect was released to wide acclaim, gaining Spaceship Days attention in the international music community and attracting a legion of fans.
The band’s follow up effort “Black Holes and Butterflies” was released nine months later. On this effort the trio honed and focused their sound, creating collection of fresh, modern, hook driven songs. . The albums first single “Shadow Walking ” was nominated for a Hollywood Music in Media Award
Armed with the fusion of chemistry, mature songwriting, and crisp production, Spaceship Days is a band for any music lover.”
Despite intergalactic communications with the Mother Ship today, having lost all contact with CHARLIE (CHUCK) COX all was not lost, joining us from the deepest darkest space was GREG TORSONE from the awesome band SPACESHIP DAYS! Just humour me while I have my little play on words here to try and lighten up my blog! (Smile)
The last time Chuck was our guest on TWITTER TUESDAY LIVE was back in March of 2011 and this time we were hoping to have the entire band on, however was not to be, and Greg saved the day by being an awesome guest! Every now and then we heard a slight sound from outer space which we can only presume was the lost member of the band!
SPACESHIP DAYS has been with us on our rotation since September 2010 and we were in awe when we finally got to meet the guys in February when we attended the ARTISTS IN MUSIC awards at the Key Club in Hollywood. What was even better was that Mark and I got to announce them as the winners in the “Best in Pop” category, I had to stop myself from screaming really loud as I opened the envelope and saw their name on the card! It was an awesome moment for both of us! Greg was reliving that moment with us today and how they really did not expect to win amongst all the talented artists that were also up for nomination!
Greg receiving the award for “Best Pop Artist” at the 2012 AIMA
A well deserved award!
Over the past couple of months there have been some changes to SPACESHIP DAYS with the introduction of a new singer ADAM DECKER and drummer ROB BEEGHLY.
Greg talked about what brought about the changes and what it would mean to the band. I have to admit that having known this band for such a long time, I was a bit dubious when I heard that they were getting a new lead singer, however after hearing the songs today, I feel that Adam has not tried to emulate MATT MOCHARNUK , (who has a very distinctive voice and in my opinion gave the band their unique style of sound) he has added his own style to the already popular tunes, and has created a sound that I feel will take this band on to newer heights! I am pleased to say that Matt will be staying with the band to continue with his already successful lyric writing for them!
SHADOW WALKING being featured in an INDEPENDENT MOVIE called, SECRETS IN THE SNOW, a great achievement for any band! If you would like to find out more details about this movie check out their web page: http://www.christianfilmdatabase.com/review/secrets-in-the-snow/

As always during the show we feature 3 songs from our guest, and this time we are going to play the exact same songs as we did the previous time we met, however this time with the new vocalist ADAM DECKER.
HANGING FROM THE SATELLITES is a tribute to that evening. It coils and slides through the anxiety and exhilaration we felt in the long, long minutes before we began, and hints at the calm out of body surreality of the performance itself.
At the end of our first number, while we were listening to what (in our minds at least) was thunderous applause, we weren’t really surprised when the police arrived to shut us down. That sort of thing happened fairly regularly at the swim team parties we frequented in those days. The Big Debut Show was over quickly, but we all were somewhat thankful for the save. Better to leave them wanting more. Just like all the cool bands.
We only had three more songs anyway.
STICK ON STARS - this is a live video of Adam with us doing Stick On Stars
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwYi5IxohKw
SHADOW WALKING - check out the video to this song http://youtu.be/7qEtFy3PtSc
Shadow Walking is a song about how people sometimes won’t see what’s right in front of them. Its about bearing the weight of your troubles on nothing but a stiff upper lip, with wide eyes that watch the world go by. This song is for everyone who has ever felt alone in the crowd.
We hope it reminds some that they don’t have to.
All these songs are taken off their second album called BLACK HOLES AND BUTTERFLIES available from http://itunes.apple.com/au/album/black-holes-and-butterflies/id407714138

“His initial introduction to music was a little on the bitter side, as his mother wouldn’t let him quit his guitar lessons at age nine. Luckily, a relationship formed and by the age of seventeen Waterman began writing songs and performing at open mic nights while attending The Citadel in South Carolina. Instead of the usual studying, he found it much more useful to spend his nights writing and performing at bars around Charleston. Although he spent many years working on his music, it wasn’t until he moved to Atlanta that an album began to take shape.
While based in Atlanta, Waterman found time to record his debut EP, Locomotive Hearts (2010). This release gained attention from Internet radio hosts and indie filmmakers, alike. His most recent project, Dividing Lines EP, will be available August 15th from his own record label, Waterman Records and Phonograph. With a little help from Eddie White and Nat Mundy, Waterman was able to produce this acoustic album himself at the Awendaw Green Studios in Awendaw, South Carolina.”
What a crack up of a show this week! Talk about laugh! I listened to the show back and was still laughing! SEAN WATERMAN joined us for the 2nd time on the show, calling in from an “unknown location” somewhere in the stratosphere, between L.A and Miami”
It was great to see a good crowd joining us live to support Sean today and as I have already mentioned there were lots of laughs along the way, mainly at my expense, I will add!
Since Sean’s last visit to the show, he has been very busy accumulating frequent flyer points jetting around to many different states, performing and trying out some of his new songs, which he hopes to put on a new album later in the year! He said he nearly has enough points to get a new TV! Lol
So, the topics of conversations on today’s show, Vegemite, Frequent Flyers, Wesley Snipes, Tin Foil oh and yes we also talked about music!!! Lol Seriously this show has to be heard as it was funny and Sean was great. It was so nice to catch up with him again and I guess we will be seeing him again in 30 episodes time! I am still laughing at the Aluminum (by the way I had to spell check that). Ok I am not saying any more about the show, you really need to hear it for yourself: http://www.butterfliesradio.com/home/twitter-tuesday-live/ (I really wish you could also hear what goes on behind the scenes during a music break)

During the show we always present 3 songs from our guest artist and these are the ones we presented this week. Once again, we had a good crowd tune in live to support Sean and he received some great feedback about his songs

“From Memphis to Miami, the blues has been introduced to a whole new audience as Beale St Blues duo Dusty & the RoboDrum has taken the blues off of its 60 year old shelf, blown the dust off of it & given it a facelift to create a whole new genre of music… modernizing the blues for a contemporary audience. Radio friendly & beat-driven, this is the blues as you have never heard it before. It is time for the music that started it all to become mainstream again. And this new mature sound is just the beginning.”
Everett “Dusty” Dutsches, who goes by the name ”Dusty”, joined us as our guest on today’s TWITTER TUESDAY LIVE. Mark and I had previously met Dusty back in February when we were in L.A. and it was awesome to reconnect with him again! Mark remarked on how he remembered Dusty as being very quiet. However, it was not the case when we conferenced him in live on the air! In fact Mark did mention during the show that Dusty had the voice of a DJ!
Dusty told us how the name ROBODRUM came about and caused some friendly banter amongst our live crowd, two of which are drummers!
I have always wondered what happens when a band records another’s artist’s song, and Dusty went into great detail to explain the process to me, to which it all makes sense now!
We talked about the band, and the other band members, Annalise and DC, and we also talked about future projects and shows coming up soon. Dusty also spoke about his new CD that will be released in the not so distant future!
Mark and I met Dusty and the other members, Annalise and DC, in February, when we attended the ARTISTS IN MUSIC AWARDS at the Key Club Hollywood. They were nominated for an award in the Best Indie Category. Unfortunately for them, they were pipped at the post by an Australian band! Still, there is always next year! Awesome bunch of guys and we had the best time that night. They also joined us for lunch the next day at the Saddle Ranch Chop House and watched me ride the bull……NOT!
During the show we featured 3 songs from the ROBODRUM all of which can be heard on the Butterflies Radio rotation!
MELT WITH YOU -The most iconic song of the entire decade of the 80’s reborn in this new millennium RoboDrum style. Progressive Rock meets Hip Hop. If you dont recognize it from the original, you might recognize it from the Hersheys commercials.
IN BETWEEN -Original Modern Rock blended with dance and guitar driven melody. Features Nashville Alt. Country singer Micheal Breedlove on Vocals. A statement of existence in musical form.
BIG BAD WOLF - This is what The RoboDrum does best. Memphis Funk with attitude. A concept that has been done a million times by a million different artists that Carol says has to be “Cranked Up”. Fun & upbeat, but with a serious anti-bullying message.

My favourite tracks on this album are Track 2. My Greatest Moment, Track 4. Affection (Impossible to sit still in this song), Track 6. String Theory (this song has to be really cranked) This Chapters Over (the guitar in this track is awesome!) Don’t believe me how good this album is then go and check it out! http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/robodrum2

“In an era of music where record sales are down, downloads are up and monotony rules, there is also a crave for something new and exciting. With music available literally at the click of a button there has never been a larger audience looking for something new and exciting. Enter Jamie Alimorad, an award-winning singer and songwriter. Influenced by artists such as The Tubes and The Beatles, Alimorad began writing and performing catchy, yet sophisticated, pop/rock songs. His electric voice and shows have left a lasting impression on audiences and have made him one of the best up and coming acts”
Mark and I were really looking forward to today’s show. JAMIE ALIMORAD was returning to our show, for a second time! When Jamie first joined us back in November 2011, we were amazed by his vast knowledge of music!
Having Jamie on the show is like having a member of your family join you. He is so easy going with a great sense of humour, and, once again, Jamie had me laughing throughout the show! We also talked a lot about Pizza again and, of course, Jamie’s love of baseball and the RED SOX….which caused a lot of friendly banter amongst our live audience!
Jamie talked about his mid-Atlantic tour, aptly named the AC/DC tour, and shared a few stories with us! The main focus of today’s show was his new album which, when we last met, was in the making! Mark and I are very proud to say that we are the very first radio station to premier his new music! We have been anxiously waiting Jamie’s new tunes and, I can tell you, if what we heard today is indicative of what we are going to hear on the new album, then it’s going to be awesome! We also received a great reaction from our live audience!
Here are three of the songs that we featured from the long awaited album: WORDS LEFT UNSAID
DANCING WITH YOU
*Dancing With You* was the sixth song recorded for Words Left Unsaid. I wanted to write a dance rock song for the album and something that embodied more of a party atmosphere. It was one of the most fun songs to track. We got very experimental with sounds and I really like the quality and timbre the guitar takes. I wanted it to sound futuristic and it reminds me of a laser. The lyrics are really straight forward. We all have crazy days and after a long one there*s that desire to be with someone you love and that*s what *Dancing With You* is all about. Getting lost in the music and having fun.
SOMEDAY SOMEWHERE
I began writing this song in my hotel room while on tour in Phoenix, AZ. The girl who this song is inspired by lives out there and it was clear our relationship was crumbling around us. The night before I left town she and I were supposed to meet up to talk about things, but she never showed. I was devastated. I had all these things to say and I never got the chance to, hence the name of the album. A month later I was back home in New York and we were hit by a tropical storm. We lost power and I knew it was time to get out my feelings. I sat at my desk, flood light on, and began writing in my journal. This was the fastest song to be recorded on the album. Not because we needed to. We just nailed all the parts within the first handful of takes. The ending of the song has my favorite vocal line on the whole album. As the song opens up into the bridge I really wanted to go all Paul McCartney/Wings on it. It was a blast!
BEAUTIFUL
As I mentioned on-air, my producer David describes *Beautiful* as the heart and soul of the album. This was the last song I sang on for the album and was the most difficult to sing. It*s very hard for me to describe what this song means to me. I had the idea of the melody for a long time and I began writing the lyrics while in Phoenix. I put it away and didn*t finish it until after the tour had wrapped. Every now and then I write lyrics that I don*t edit a single word from what the original was. It*s very rare but this is one of those songs. When I sang the lyrics into the microphone, it was the first time I ever sang them or expressed those thoughts. It was a really hard song for me to sing but it always makes me smile when I listen to it. I hope you all get that same smile when you listen to it.
This photo of Jamie was taken from his 2012 AC/DC tour
What can I say other than another great show! However you can still hear the show and what Jamie had to say by going to http://www.butterfliesradio.com/home/twitter-tuesday-live/

“There’s so much more to life than everything you want from it!” -Taylor Van Arsdale… I like to quote myself.”
Taylor Van Arsdale has spent her professional life telling stories. Whether these stories are fact or fiction, her writing creates clear and engaging tales about the human condition.
Today’s show was far too short for our awesome guest from Santa Monica - TAYLOR VAN ARSDALE! Before the show I was looking through Taylor’s bio and resume, whoa this girl wears so many hats it’s not funny! How she finds the time to do all the things she does I do not know! As part of her bio (see above) says, she has spent her life telling stories, and during the show we only heard a small portion of them. To be honest I could have spent all day listening to her .I had so many questions that I wanted to ask her that I never got the time. 2 hours seems a long time for a live show, but trust me it goes by so quick!
Mark and I were lucky to have already had the pleasure of meeting Taylor at the ARTISTS IN MUSIC AWARDS in L.A back in February and we knew that this girl could talk! She started the show by getting Mark excited by announcing that she was wearing a black negligee!!! As the show progressed there was of course the mention of Spandex and Assless Chaps!!!!!! I’m saying no more, my lips are sealed!
Taylor talked about her work with HBO, her life as an editor, photo-journalist, and her work as a Publicist. She talked a lot about her involvement with TAILFISH PRODUCTIONS and the clients that she helps promote. Seriously she is an amazing person and like Mark and I, she is dedicated to an industry that she loves! We even found out she was the original check in girl for GUITAR CENTER HOLLYWOOD!
Taylor and I at the AIMI awards, that outfit she is wearing was awesome!
Taylor also talked to us about her radio show that airs every Wednesday morning at 11amPST and can be heard on http://indie100.com/ Mark and I are excited because Butterflies Radio will also be broadcasting the show every Wednesday 8pm EST which is good for those living in Australia!
Taylor is also the partner of BILL HEMP from DYMAXION VEHICLE who was our guest on the show a couple of weeks ago and it has been confirmed that Bill will be moving to California in the not so distant future and we will be anxiously awaiting news as to when that happens!
Photo of Billy Joe from Green Day who was just one of the many talented artists that Taylor has shot and if you listen to the show you will hear the story behind this photo!
Some other bands she’s shot & interviewed:
Buckcherry
Trevor Hall
Well that was just a taste of just some of the topics we touched on during today’s show, please take the time to listen to the show and hear just how awesome Taylor was! http://www.butterfliesradio.com/home/twitter-tuesday-live/
Taylor on the red carpet at the AIMI awards, doing what she does best!
Taylor submitted some new bands for the Butterflies Radio rotation and during the show we showcased three of them!
CANTO “GRISEOUS”
A resurgence of rock is brewing out on the Southern California coastline, as Canto launches their inaugural album Ha Ha Ha onto hordes of music fans. Spearheaded by upstart guitarist and songwriter extraordinaire Seamus Blackwell, the family power trio—yes, the boys in the band are brothers and include Aidan Blackwell (on bass) and Dave Blackwell (on drums)—worked with multi-platinum record producer Bryan Carlstrom (The Offspring / Alice In Chains) to put finishing touches on their new CD. Canto’s debut show at the world famous House of Blues on Sunset Blvd., was a packed event. As of print, their website is being created, for now check them out on: <https://www.facebook.com/pages/Canto/199957743354850>
How they write and the meaning behind the title “Griseous”:
It begins with jamming and messing around. Typically Seamus comes up with a guitar line or melody and the boys build around that. Most of the time, the instrumentals are written first, with the vocal melodies following. On one occasion, while trying to come up with a title for a song, Seamus said the song made him think of the colors blue and grey swirling together. “The next day, I flipped through the pages in a dictionary and randomly put my finger down on a page. My finger landed on the word ‘Griseous,’ meaning ‘a meddle of blue and grey.’ Hence, the name,” says Seamus. “The song ‘Cardigan Sweater’ came out of us trying to figure out how to play ‘D’yer Mak’er’ by Led Zeppelin,” adds Dave.
RIE SINCLAIR – HOW THE STORY ENDS
One would think with her porcelain skin and ethereal voice that Rie Sinclair just floated onto the scene as if it were divine intervention. Quite the contrary, Rie has been making waves in the industry better equated to a tropical storm than a wading pool, writing a catalogue of music for ABC/Disney and for shows like Ghost Whisperer, The Vampire Diaries, Charmed, Californication, The Hills, Nurse Jackie, Bionic Woman, Law & Order, Samantha Who, & Dirt. She wrote the main-title theme for MTV’s Blonde Charity Mafia, and was nominated for an Emmy with the song, “Where You Are” (as heard on many different shows). She has mini-themes running throughout Daytime including, “Just You & Me”, performed by Jayson Belt, “My Confession”, performed by Jay Nash, and “Underneath The Night”, performed by the artist herself.
She is a chameleon-like composer, with her Sparkling Violet’s and alter-egos; by day in demand as a writer and performer of beautiful songs for Hollywood studios, providing atmosphere and emotion to back up the visuals; but by night she dons another cape, crafting her own elation and despair into perfected four-minute vignettes; she records and delivers them live with equal finesse and commitment. Currently she is preparing for upcoming Los Angeles showcases and working on, Sour Mash Whisky Mixes, a new album by Violet & Mayhem; a side project with a country/western traditional folk flair.

Dymaxion Vehicle
Winner Best Electronic Artist for the 2012 Artists In Music AwardsDymaxion Vehicle was hailed by BLAST Magazine as the “Quentin Tarantino of Darkwave” for their first CD Design which blends synths, guitars, polyrhythmic beats and programming with contributions from a variety of female vocalists to create a unique sonic blend of textures.
Bill Hemp, the pop-strategist at the helm of the project just finished the second CD Re-Design: Fun In Strobes—a remix album. The Remix album Re-Design: Fun in Strobes brings a new concept into the remix culture…that of the artist remixing his own material and presenting it in a new light. Alternative Dance, Breakbeat, Electro and House versions sit nicely with the Darkwave debut album Design released in 2011.

Though not on the podcast, Hillbilly Herald—another Tailfish PR Client—who are heading off on tour this summer with Slash—is now also in rotation on Butterflies Radio.
Staying true to Rock n’ Roll, Hillbilly Herald is bringing back “The Show” with in-your-face guitar slingin’, raspy voiced singin’, drum ringin’ rock n roll and taking the US by storm. Packing in world-renown venues like the Viper Room, Roxy Theater, and the House of Blues, the band, fronted by Jimmy Herald (vocals) seems unstoppable. This spring they kick it up notch rolling out a mid-west tour with dates that include opening for the iconic Grammy Winner Slash and his band featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators and several with metal maniacs Steel Panther.
The band’s success has been largely the result of Herald’s balls-out attitude towards rock-n-roll and this tour is based on his determination to move the group forward. The current lineup consists of Mark “The Cat” Hill (Guitar), Adam Wolf (bass), Hawaiian Brian (Guitar), and Louie “Sea Biscuit” Riel (Drums).

Joining us, today, from Montreal, Canada, was the vocalist and rhythm guitarist ,Rick Cordi, from the band GLO. Rick fitted in with TWITTER TUESDAY LIVE with his quick wit and sense of humour! Looking at the photo above, Rick is the one on the far right of the photo (discussed as a pirate). I had to look twice at the photo. as I thought it was Johnnie Depp!
Of course. Rick only makes up 1/3rd of the band GLO. Eddie Mazzola (guitarist / keyboardist & bassist) and Patrick Rowan (drummer), unfortunately, were unable to join Mark and I today! They must have been pre-warned about us and didn’t have the heart to tell Rick!
“Multi-talented, Canadian alt-rockers GLO are excited to announce the release of their latest musical offering entitled No One Hears Me. The album is a strong blend of unyielding melodic prowess with catchy, fast-paced anthems, as well as beautiful flowing ballads that redefine the modern rock genre. No One Hears Me was recorded with the help of platinum-certified record producer John Nathaniel. It is a libidinously sweaty commingling of three extraordinarily talented musicians and is not to be missed. No One Hears Me will be released in April 2012.”
Introduced to us by TAYLOR VAN ARSDALE, we have been enjoying the music of GLO on our rotation for a while now. It was great to finally have a chance to find out a bit more about this talented band from Canada! Rick talked about their music and what it means to be an independent artist in today’s world and how they have moved up in the world from lower case to upper case! He also talked about the new album, NO ONE HEARS ME, due to be released soon!
Rick has the sense of humour that Mark and I love in our guests. It makes for a fun show! Please excuse the feeble attempt of your host as he pretends to be Italian!
We did have a good crowd today supporting GLO and I am hoping those that missed it will take the time to download the podcast. It’s hard for me to talk about the show in a blog. Rick had so much to say and it’s best to hear it for yourself, instead of me rambling on: http://www.butterfliesradio.com/home/twitter-tuesday-live/
I have no idea what was wrong with me today,!I was flustered!!! LOL! Probably due to having to share the airways with two awesome guys today!
Three of GLO’s songs were featured during the show;

Hailed by BLAST Magazine as the “Quentin Tarantino of Darkwave” 2012 AIMA award winners Dymaxion Vehicle blends synths, guitars, polyrhythmic beats and programming with contributions from a variety of vocalists to create a unique sonic blend of textures. Where post-punk alternative merges with a misty spasm of danceable pop! Dymaxion Vehicle is the electronic music project of former Einstein Experience, Medicinal James, and Sweetie guitarist Bill Hemp AKA Gothboy. Now an electronic musician, composer and synthesist He’s producing his own brand of electronica, Darkwave, and synth-pop.
Rested and back from my trip to Bali, I was really looking forward to catching up again with our guest on TWITTER TUESDAY LIVE: BILL HEMP from DYMAXION VEHICLE. Mark and I had the great pleasure of meeting with Bill in February, when we attended the ARTISTS IN MUSIC AWARDS in HOLLYWOOD.Bill was presented with an award that night for “BEST ELECTRONIC ARTIST” - well deserved, too! So, it was great to talk with Bill again!
Mark and I with Bill at the AIMA awards - February 2012
Dymaxion Vehicles award for BEST ELECTRONIC ARTIST
Bill talked about the awards show in L.A and how it felt to be the recipient of an award that night. We talked a lot about his music, his influences, his upcoming new album and much, much more! We also found out how he met his partner, TAYLOR VAN ARSDALE, from L.A, who, by the way, wanted everyone to know that Bill is “the cutest thing ever”! Taylor will, actually, be joining us on TWITTER TUESDAY LIVE on 3rd April! So, we can continue this conversation then!!!!
DYMAXION VEHICLE also launched their new video for DEEP RED MAHOGANY, featuring theawesome TIGERLILY, today. It can befound on http://youtu.be/0v9KN0b_vME and is also our featured video on our web page http://www.butterfliesradio.com

You can download the podcast by clicking on this link http://www.butterfliesradio.com/home/listen-live/ If you do, you will also find out what THE QUEEN carries in her handbag and why Bill got the name GOTH BOY! Oh, and itsnot true about me riding the bull!!!!!!
We also featured three songs from DYMAXION VEHICLE which are all on the Butterflies Rotation and can be requested from our home page:
DEEP RED MAHOGANY
“One of our darker songs; features Lily of Tigerlily. It was the last song to go on the Design album. It’s quirky edgy, sexy and fun and soon became the single receiving airplay on both the east and west coast, including local play during Boston’s morning drive time and San Diego’s. The video was produced by Broken Wall Films.”
DREAMS IN ARGYLE(Blood on my Hands mix)
“The remix version from Re-Design: Fun In Strobes got a change in the chorus, a dance beat and the added sample from my cell phone. The song is a journey, albeit a dark one, but the trip is worth it.”
IN OCTOBER (LOST IN SPRING)
I had the idea of making this gorgeous ballad into a pop single for the remix album. Vocalist Tracey Inkson is a marvellous talent and she really shines here. The song is about the time when the fall comes and our lives take on a measure of loss, but through it all there is the rebirth of spring.”
This is the first album by DYMAXION VEHICLE - DESIGN which I can proudly say I have a copy of this album and it has some great tunes on there – the best way to listen to this album is on a good sound system or on headphones so that you can here the great engineering that has gone into making this awesome album! It is available from

It was so nice to have the cheerful Mark back this week! For the past few weeks he has not been feeling the best, having had to cancel one show and struggle through last weeks show! As for me, I am pleased to say that I did not fall over this week and, apart from the usual problems with my wonderful Skype, I consider this week’s show another success!
Our guest this week, from L.A., was multi-talented, singer song writer, film composer, producer, pianist, …..MIMI PAGE! Mark and I were in awe of the talent that this beautiful girl has achieved so far in her musical career and she is only 25 years old!
Mimi is the bubbliest of girls and so very confident in the way she came across to our live audience! She won me over from the start by loving my all time favorite Australian movie, “STRICTLY BALLROOM”!
Mimi talked about how, as a child, she was brought up on classical music and, although she has had many musical influences, Mimi has created her own niche on the independent music scene. She has found her very own unique sound! From electronica to haunting melodic ballads, her music is enjoyed by all ages!
She also talked about some of the amazing artists that are remixing her songs!
Mimi talked about her upcoming tour which begins March 14th in Connecticut. During part of her tour, Mimi is opening for JEFFERSON STARSHIP. When she mentioned that I really thought Mark was going to break out in song with…”We Built This City” lol you know you love that song really Mark, just admit it!!!!
At one stage during the show, there was talk about “Erotic Beats” Anyway the only way to enjoy the show is to download the podcast and here Mimi for yourself http://www.butterfliesradio.com/home/twitter-tuesday-live/
BREATHE ME IN is her latest EP out and can be found on iTunes
